About NY Septic Guide

NY Septic Guide is an independent information site for Hudson Valley homeowners dealing with septic systems — costs, New York State's grant programs, and finding licensed local contractors. We are not a septic company, an engineering firm, or a government agency.

Why we built it

A failing septic system is a five-figure problem that most homeowners face exactly once, with no experience and little clear information. Contractor sites say "call for a quote." County grant pages are written for regulators. National cost articles quote averages from regions nothing like this one. We built the resource we couldn't find: regional prices, grant programs translated into steps, and a contractor list checked against county registrations.

How we make money

Plainly: when homeowners request quotes through this site, we forward those requests to licensed contractors serving their area. Today that's free for contractors; over time, contractors will pay for featured placement or forwarded requests. Contractors never pay to alter what our guides say, listings are never ranked by payment without saying so, and grant information is sourced from state and county program documents.

Accuracy

Grant rules, funding rounds, and eligible-waterbody lists change. We update pages as programs change, but always confirm current details with your county health department before making decisions. Spotted an error? Email hello@nysepticguide.com — corrections make the site better for the next homeowner.
